A Pennsylvania native, Stephen Cunnane earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2018. His path to the practice of law began early: while in Chattanooga, he worked as a legal assistant at a family and criminal defense firm and served as a private process server for several local attorneys, giving him a firsthand understanding of litigation, the courts, and client service.

Before law school, Stephen spent nearly four years in the real estate practice group at Honigman LLP in Chicago. There he supported attorneys on a high volume of transactional matters.

Stephen went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law in 2025, where he was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and served as a Student Attorney in the school’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Clinic. During law school, he completed a residency with Apollo Sports and Entertainment Law in Charlotte.

After graduating and passing the North Carolina Bar in February 2026, Stephen joined The Frick Firm, LLC. His practice focuses on real estate law and closings, corporate law and business entity formation, wills, trusts, and estates, and civil litigation, where he draws on both his large-firm transactional training and his clinical experience advising small businesses and entrepreneurs.
